Thanks for the link - I'm always looking for new patterns.Cabling without a cable needle works well for a lot of things, but I can't use the technique if the yarn is slick or if I'm working very tightly. I'm not using a cable needle on my gansey - the yarn holds up really well to being slipped off a needle. Nice hat!
