So, tomorrow is Halloween. That means the day after that is November 1st. That is the month before the month that has Christmas in it. Where did the time go? Of course, I have things I WANT to knit for people. I would tell you, but they are items for people who read this blog. Not difficult items, but time consuming items. Doable.
This was my feeling until I re-read the syllabus for the class I am taking. Two papers, one test, and one final to go. Lots and lots of reading. Much like the knitting, nothing too difficult, but time consuming. This is problematic. I need a lot of time. Plus, I have started working out again since I had to retreat inside for the winter.
Now I don’t mean to be whining because I am not. It is more of a typing out loud post. I have to get all these things done in a short period of time. I must manage my time by giving a little bit everyday to each thing. I have been getting up at the god awful hour of 5 a.m. to read for an hour. No falling asleep when you just got up, right? So far so good. My evenings out will be spent on papers until I am done with those.
Next, I am plunking my eldest child in front of the TV during the nap portion of the day in order to bond with the Nordic Track for a half an hour or so (does anyone else not see the irony in this?). Should workout more like 45 minutes but compromises must be made.
This leaves the evenings free for knitting. I will finish my mini cardi before embarking on Christmas projects. Honestly, I can’t stand this sweater right now. I hate moss stitch. It is the end product that is forcing me to slog through the sleeves. It will be a great sweater. Flattering color. Very needed in my wardrobe. I will conquer. I will ignore the quiet calling of the koigu for a chevron scarf downstairs.
Aside from the Minimalist cardigan, there will be little knitting I can report on. You can check out what I am doing on Ravelry, if you are inclined. I am HollyJo – again the creativity flows. Blogging will be limited mostly to kiddo stuff, which honestly is pretty friggin‘ funny lately. Muskrat’s new thing when he is pitching a huge, horrific fit is to spit. Like a damn camel, I tell you. The first time he did it I was so surprised by this very bizarre reaction I laughed at him. Not effective parenting.
These are my feet today. Roza socks. Oh how I love them. Kristina’s life slowed down long enough to allow her to finish them and mail them back. She is reading this post thinking how quiet my life seems – really, she has been insanely busy. She did a great job knitting the second one – I can’t tell the difference between them. They are lovely socks, and I have worn them several days in a row now. You are grossed out.
Bubba has talked his way through this entire post. He is up to his elbows in shaving cream right now. “blah, blah, blah …snow mountains…. *insert gratuitous uh-huh from me*….bombs blasting the cars…..everyone lives anyway…..blah, blah, blah” The kid is incredible I tell you. He is going to write stories like his Pa.

glad you like the socks. Or, at least the one that I made is suitably acceptable.
Your life sounds insane! School is so different than anything else – you have deadlines, and you absolutely HAVE to meet them, no compromising. I did it with one child (and was pregnant with another), and I have always said that it was WAY, WAY, WAY easier with one than it would have been with two. HUGE kudos to you for making the time to exercise. I can’t imagine how you are doing all of that!

Heh. I bet that most days I could fall asleep right after I woke up. My, you are busy. And way to go, keeping up with the workouts with everything else you have going on (as for the TV plunking, I live in a glass house and therefore shall not throw stones). And dealing with spitting! God help you for laughing. But I don’t know how you aren’t heading the call of the Koigu. Nice socks, by the way.(This comment is long and doesn’t make much sense; sorry).
